What is a Social Enterprise?
Have you ever bought anything at The Co - op? Bought the Big Issue? Read it whilst eating a bar of Divine chocolate or watched Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen? Then you may already know a bit about social enterprise. This is a growing, worldwide movement of businesses that are changing the world for the better.
A Social Enterprise is a business that trades to tackle social problems, improve communities, people’s life chances, or the environment. This might sound like charity work, but social enterprises are businesses and when they profit, society profits.
How We Make a Difference in Manchester?
Every day people face a decision between spending money on food or heating because they cannot afford both. This is usually the elderly or the most vulnerable in society. Over 3000 people died last Winter - ALL of these deaths were preventable.
This is unacceptable and we want to work with the elderly and vulnerable to provide advice and support to help lower energy use and energy bills!
If you have any suggestions of ways that we can offer support please get in touch
